It’s kind of crazy to think this is only Russell Dickerson’s second album, with the release of Southern Symphony.

New In Nash: This Week in New Music

By Aaron Wagner

Russell Dickerson’s sophomore album Southern Symphony has officially arrived and the 10 track album is filled with some great songs, none better than “Forever For a Little While.”

Carly Pearce is out with yet another new song in which she wrote with the late busbee in mind, but “Show Me Around” is a song that anyone who has lost a loved one can relate to. It’s a lovely song concept that you can tell Carly poured her heart into.

It’s been 10 years since Chase Rice made a killing when he wrote “Cruise” with FGL and he recently teamed up with the duo again on a feel good song in “Drinkin’ Beer. Talking God. Amen.” I don’t know if it’s going to be a radio single but I think it could do well.

Chuck Wicks is back to making new music, releasing “Old with You”, which is inspired by his recent marriage to his wife Kasi.

Then there are two collaborations this week you should take a listen to. Husband and wife Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black come together on “Til the End of Time” while Carrie Underwood joins Latino artist David Bisbal on “Tears of Gold.”

My 3 Favorite Songs from Country Risers:

“You Heard Right” – Lexie Hayden: This is such a lovely song, from the lyrics to Lexie’s voice. Singing about getting over someone, but inevitably running into them again in the future, Lexie brings the confidence of this character being content out in her voice. I would love if country radio would give this song a chance.

“Catch Myself” – Taylor Edwards: Taylor is one of my favorite risers as everything she touches is so damn catchy. That’s once again the case this week with her new release as she cleverly sings about not running back into the comfort of a previous relationship.

“Broken Castle” – Linde LaChance: This is my official introduction to Linde and her voice absolutely blew me. It’s one of those songs that grabs your attention but also makes you want to hear her sing it live. Big fan of this song.
