This song is just one of those jams you crank up and speed down the highway to.
Released in the fall of 1992, “I’m in a Hurry” would be Alabama’s second last #1 hit of the group’s storied career.
The song was written by Roger Murrah (“Don’t Rock the Jukebox”, “If I Could Make a Living”) and Randy VanWarmer.
I couldn’t find a background story on how this song came to be, but maybe that’s okay. Given the release of it in 1992, you could argue that it was very different than a lot of songs at the time and propelled the genre forward.
At the least, it’s a song that gives off a type of energy that we can all use from time to time. Especially when you’re running late on the way to work and risk it by pushing the pedal to the floor.
And can we talk about how random and cheesy the music video is?
