New In Nash: This Week in New Music

By Aaron Wagner

Russell Dickerson announced his sophomore album Southern Symphony will be released in December and dropped a new track from the project with “Never Get Old.” An artist that has been absolutely on fire is Jordan Davis and he continues momentum with his new one as he sings about barely hanging on in “Lose You.”

Speaking of upcoming new albums, Lee Brice released “Memory I Don’t Mess With” which will be on his next album, being released on November 20th. Fans of 90s country should be excited about Shenandoah’s latest project. They’re teaming up with country’s biggest artists on a collaboration album. This week they give us “Every Time I Look at You”, a duet with Lady A. Continuing the collaborations theme, Logan Mize and Clare Dunn team up on “Get ‘Em Together”, a ‘let the good times roll” jam.

Matt Stell and Parker McCollum both released new EP projects this week. Stell’s Better Than That features his hits “Prayer For You” and “Everywhere But On”, but give “Look at Me Now” a listen as I think it would be a great next single choice. McCollum’s Hollywood Gold EP features “Pretty Heart” and five other songs worth checking out, including “Love You Like That.”

Trace Adkins also has a new six-song EP out this week and the title track “Ain’t That Kind of Cowboy” is a must listen. LOCASH teams up with The Gronkowski Brothers (yes the football family including Tom Brady’s favorite target Rob) on a rowdy jam “Cloud of Dust.”

One of my favorite acts from Canada, The Reklaws released their new album Sophomore Slump. An early favorite of mine is “Not Gonna Not.” One of Texas country’s biggest stars Aaron Watson released a great country and American anthem with “American Soul.” It’ll simply make you feel good about being an American.

My 3 Favorite Songs from Country Risers:

“Found It In You” – Tiera: Some artists just have that smooth voice and that’s who Tiera is. Her new release this week is a fun, mid-tempo that has her singing about finding what she’s looking for in her new love. I’d love for this to get a chance at radio as I think it would play really well.

“Make You Mine” – BROWN & GRAY: One of my favorite duos, their new one once again features the new husband and wife’s harmonies as they sing about pursuing that someone special that has their attention.

“In Case You Forgot (My Hometown)” – Lakeview: These two dudes are the real deal and are my pick to be the next country music act that blows up and becomes an “overnight sensation.” This song has such a cool production sound while they sing about trying to get over an ex. It just has a good vibe all around. Buy stock in Lakeview.
