In the last year or so, Jordan Rager has released a new song every couple of months and every time he releases a new song, it’s better than his previous one we enjoyed.
In 2019 alone, he released five songs that I have no doubt would be Top 10 hits at radio if his name was Cole Swindell or Riley Green. They’re that good.
He kicked off 2019 with “Colorblind,” a song that is so well written but the production and execution vocally take it to another level. “Small Town Talkin'” and “Where You Been All My Life” were the next songs released and are absolute jams whether you’re driving around with the windows down or having a bonfire.
Rager showed that he can do more than just the anthems with “Dirt in My Veins” that pays homage to his roots and “The Wrong Ones” which has him thanking all the previous guys that broke his current girlfriend’s heart. “The Wrong Ones” just might be my favorite and I’m still holding out hope it gets released to radio.
Rager cut his teeth writing songs and getting cuts from the likes of Jason Aldean and Granger Smith. If you’re a country enthusiast and pay attention to other up and comers you’ll recognize his lyrics on Meghan Patrick’s “Wild as Me” and Jon Langston’s “Right Girl, Wrong Time.”
To me, 2019 proved that Rager can write a song and sing the hell out of it, producing a final product that is deserving of significant airplay on radio. Let’s hope he continues his momentum from last year and builds on the success he’s starting to have.
Coming to a radio near you — Jordan Rager.
