UK Country artist Danny McMahon dropped his catchy new single “Lonely” today.
The release comes as he puts a bow on a banner year that saw him named as UK Country Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, as well as UK Country Song of the Year.
The songs starts off with a groovy sound to it and really takes off during the chorus. On the surface during the first listen it’s an absolute jam that you can rock out to in your car or at a party. However, when you take a closer listen you discover that he’s not singing about a perfect situation as he’s actually trying to persuade the girl that they’d be better off if they weren’t lonely.
McMahon channeled his inner Morgan Wallen with the song explaining that Wallen’s most recent album was inspirational for developing “Lonely.”
“For me, the new single is all about contrast. I have been listening to the new Morgan Wallen album recently and although the feel of the music is very powerful and uplifting, there is often an underlying hidden meaning in the lyrical content that goes deeper than you would initially anticipate”.
After fans hear it for the first time, there’s no doubt they’re going to be listening to it on repeat all week long. It’s the perfect next song to keep the momentum going on his successful 2019 as he continues to grow his following while putting his stamp on country music in the UK.
