5 Favorite Songs from Lady Antebellum’s New Album “Ocean”

This past weekend, Lady Antebellum released their 7th studio album called Ocean.

It’s always great to hear the harmonies between the three and especially Charles and Hillary blending their lead vocals together so effortlessly. Their current radio single “What If I Never Get Over You” is currently sitting at #7 on the charts so I went through and highlighted other songs from the album that stood out to me.

“Boots” – For some reason this song takes me back to their first single “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.” The mid tempo-song highlights one of Lady A’s greatest strength in their ability to absolutely deliver a song that is equal parts meaningful and snappy.

“What I’m Leaving For” – Simply put, it’s a beautiful song about living the music star life. It’s equal parts grateful for their success as artists and what they have with each of their families, while at the same time expressing the sadness they experience when they’re away from home. They tow that line between grateful and loneliness effectively.

“Alright” – Catchy right after the bat with the banjo playing. Sometimes life throws curveball after curveball and we need to remind ourselves that things are going to be alright.

“The Thing That Wrecks You”Lady Big Town. That’s what we’ll call it when Lady A teams up with Little Big Town. Written by Tenille Townes, the song tells the story about realizing that oneself is actually hurting the person that means so much to them. Each person gets their moment to shine on this one and as you’d imagine, the harmonies are ridiculous.

“Mansion” – Money doesn’t buy everything. In most cases it’s not the sparkly things that attract us to a person. Love how this one has a bit of groovy/jazzy vibe and Hillary absolutely knocks it out of the park with her lead vocals.
