Haley Mae Campbell has already found success early in her singing and song writing career. She found herself on stage at CMA Fest last year, and her first few singles have caught the ear of Spotify, earning a way onto playlists such as “Breakout Country” and “New Boots.”
The breakout single, “Anything But Yellow” racked up over 2 million listens on Spotify, and “Oughta Be” made a dent on CMT’s top viewed music videos.
Through her first few singles, Campbell has established that she can string a verse together better than most, especially at her age. But she’s really turning heads with her latest single “Ghost Stories.” It’s a far cry from her early songs of young love, and being carefree. “Ghost Stories” is a powerful, grown up single about love lost and the damages it causes.
It’s Campbell’s most mature and creative lyrics to date. Perhaps this is the way she’s taking her music; she certainly has found something that works and a musical lane that she masters extremely well.
