Missing that country-rock sound? A gravely voice that can carry a song with just a guitar, but that can also kill the high note in a rock and roll atmosphere? No, this isn’t a Kip Moore appreciate post, it’s for Tucker Beathard, the fresh, young, new voice, who is winning over fans and critics wherever he goes.
Tucker Beathard recently signed a recording deal with Warner Music Nashville, all thanks to his debut album Nobody’s Perfect, which he released as an independent artist. When Nobody’s Perfect was released in the fall of 2018, Beathard was already making waves with the song “Rock On”, a song that gives different meanings to what ‘Rock On’ means. In the end it’s sad news for our narrator, but shows the self-sacrifice, that letting his better half go is what was best for her, not necessarily him.
Earlier this year Tucker released two new songs; a precursor of the next album that is expected to be released by the end of the year. “Find Me Here” is a brutally honest song of self reflection, of all the wrongs and mistakes made. Lyrics like “…I don’t want to be caught in room 316, with a hotel bible as a coaster underneath my beer…and Lord if you decide tonight’s the night You’re coming back, I hope you don’t find me here,” seem to punch you in the gut. It must be one of those songs that other songwriters wish they had been a part of.
Tucker’s latest single “Better Than Me” is not quite as intense and it plays more into his rock style. With over 2 million streams on Spotify, this song is quickly garnering Tucker a bigger name and more fans. And while it has the potential to climb the charts, the song doesn’t come across as a cookie cutter country song. He manages to strike the perfect balance between rock and twang, and authentic lyrics.
And honestly, what else are you looking for in a country artist? We can’t wait to see and hear more of Tucker Beathard.
