Before Cole Swindell was headlining tours, selling out venues, and dominating the country music charts he was a songwriter in Nashville hoping to have his songs cut. He wasn’t just some songwriter though, as the songs he was writing were getting cut by notable country artists that were taking his songs to the top of the country charts.
These are some of the more notable songs he wrote for other artists:
As Cole explains in the clip, he grew up listening to Rhett Atkins on the radio so it was a dream come true for him to write “Get Me Some of That” with him when he got to Nashville.
Even though “Rollercoaster” went to the top of the charts, it’s still one of Luke Bryan’s most underrated songs.
“This Is How We Roll” is one of the biggest country hits of the last decade. However, it’s great to hear what Cole had in mind originally before the big production elements were added to it.
One that I really wish Cole had held on to for his own is “Outta My Head.” Craig Campbell took it to the Top 15, but I have a feeling Cole could’ve taken it even higher.
