Alan Jackson is one of the all time country greats. You can’t think of 90s country without thinking about him. He’s a legend. And now we get the entire story told firsthand.
“Small Town Southern Man” is the new documentary that highlights Alan Jackson’s upbringing, starting his career in Nashville, and the stories behind some of his biggest hits.
We hear from Alan Jackson himself through past interviews and stories told during concerts. His four sisters share commentary about what Alan was like as a child. Then there’s the candid tributes from Carrie Underwood, Lee Ann Womack, Easton Corbin, and Allison Krause. Industry executives also share their input to provide a complete picture of who Alan Jackson truly is.
I watched this documentary on my flight yesterday and it was pure joy. I gained a new appreciation for just how talented Alan Jackson is. You get a great back story that sets the foundation for who he became as an artist and a man. If you’re a country music fan this is a must watch.
