Most Anticipated Albums of 2019

Last year was a banner year for country music. New artists such as Morgan Evans, Jordan Davis, Jimmie Allen, and Mitchell Tenpenny all released debut albums while reaching the top of the charts. Kane Brown and Brett Young dropped their sophomore albums toward the end of the year. Kacey Musgraves arguably had the album of the year while Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Cole Swindell, Dan + Shay, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, and Eric Church all released new albums.

So what does 2019 have in store?

Florida Georgia Line is releasing a new album on February 15 called Can’t Say I Ain’t Country. They’ve received way more flack than they deserve as to whether or not they are country in recently, so this album looks to be there way to fire back.

After her career launching debut album a few years ago, Maren Morris is set to release her sophomore album in 2019. We’re anxious to hear the types of songs included. She recently told Billboard, “I’ve become braver. I don’t really care so much about people telling me “You’re not country.” And that’s okay. I’m a little bit of everything.”

The last two years Tim McGraw has spent his time on a cross country tour with his superstar wife Faith Hill. They even put out a duets album. However, this year Tim is putting out his own new music that is just himself. For someone who has had a 20 plus year career it’ll be interesting to hear the new music from him. We’re unsure of a release date but we do know it’s happening this year.

In the last week Carly Pearce was back in the studio working on her next album. All signs point to it being released later this year. Her latest single “Closer to You” is the only song we’re aware of that will for sure be on it. She’s keeping things close to the vest by referring to it as “CP2.” Stay tuned.

Brantley Gilbert is currently busy promoting his latest single “What Happens In A Small Town” which he happens to be joined by fellow guitar rocker Lindsay Ell. There’s optimism that Brantley is expected to release a new album in 2019, especially on the heels of releasing what appears to be a smash hit. He’s not spilling much about the new album but did tell The Boot that it will include a song he wrote for his song.

One of the queens of country music is scheduled to release her first album in more than a decade. Ms. Trisha Yearwood is gearing up for a big album release in 2019. While there’s no final date we cannot wait to hear what the album sounds like. Will we get 1990s Trisha or a modern Trisha? Either way, we already know it’s going to be great.

Maddie & Tae is almost certainly going to release a new album this year. With a new label that has their back and joining Carrie Underwood on a monster tour, 2019 could end up being a huge year for the duo.

While on a joint tour with Darius Rucker in 2018, Lady Antebellum was busy writing songs all summer long while they were criss-crossing the country and even heading overseas to the U.K. Dave Haywood shared that “We has a pile of close to 50-55 songs that we’ve written right now that we’re starting to look at.” The group has masterfully done a great job balancing the growth of their families while still keeping their fans happy. Looks like we’ll see a new album from them this year.

Thomas Rhett is always thinking about his fans. He remembers as a kid what he liked most about his favorite artists and draws from this as an artist now. At his album release show two years ago, he shared that as a fan he wants to hear the artists best songs when he goes to a show. So even when debuting his new album he played “Die A Happy Man.” T-Rhett recently shared that he’s been busy writing new songs and is excited to share it with fans.

Looks like 2019 is going to be another banner year in country music.
