Your Country Music Social Recap

Each week we recap some of our favorite things that we saw on social media.

Reba McEntire had a busy week when it comes to former presidents. First, she was honored at the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors in Washington D.C. for a lifetime contribution to American culture. Then on Thursday, she sang a powerful rendition of The Lord’s Prayer at George H.W. Bush’s funeral in Houston, Texas.

Reba wasn’t the only country artist to honor the life of George H.W. Bush. The Oak Ridge Boys, who became friends with President Bush, sang Amazing Grace at his funeral service and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight.

Luke Combs and his girlfriend Nicole Hocking got engaged. They both shared pictures to their social media accounts but noted that they had been engaged for a bit and had trouble keeping it under wraps until the right time.

Shay Mooney and his wife Hannah are in the process of moving homes. Rather, Hannah is, as Shay is out on the road. Something tells us Shay owes her big time. It’s been to follow along as she documents the move, setting up a new house, and watching their son Asher adjust to his new digs.

Thomas Rhett appeared on Sesame Street this week, but the real fun was watching Willa Gray interact with all of the characters. It’s probably the most adorable thing you’ll see this week. Flip through the photos and videos in Lauren’s Instagram post.

Lauren Alaina was hanging out with Russell Dickerson this week, so naturally she had to attempt Russell’s wine challenge. It looks hard enough to begin with, and with Lauren’s goofball personality laughing through most of it, it makes for a hilarious video.

At one of Russell Dickerson’s shows this week some fans must have gotten into a fight. We’ve all been there, no not in a fight, but rather witnessing some pushing and shoving, escalating to something nobody wants to see at a concert. This caught the eye of Russell and he showed them the door.

You’ve probably noticed all of your favorite country artists posting picture of them wearing a #ThisShirtSavesLives photo for a campaign to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dave Haywood from Lady Antebellum is just one example. Consider making a donation here.
