2018 Nominees:

Summary: This past year, arguably could be named the year of the duos. Brothers Osborne released “Shoot Me Straight” in January and followed it up with their latest album in April. Similarly, in January, Dan + Shay released the first single, “Tequila” from their third studio album, with the album release coming early in summer. After a tough year of dealing with their record label closing, Maddie and Tae are back with new music. “Friends Don’t” was released in April of this year; one part of an already completed album, just waiting for a release date.

Sugarland also reunited this year after nearly a five year hiatus, both working individual projects. “Settle For More” reached number one on the Country iTunes charts, and was followed up by “Babe” featuring Taylor Swift. They dropped their album “Bigger” in June, and spent the summer on tour. Florida Georgia Line may have had the quietest, yet biggest year of their careers. This June they released “Simple,” the first single since “Smooth” which was released late 2017. However between those singles FGL has been riding the wave of collaborations, the biggest of which, is “Meant to Be” with Bebe Rexha. The song shattered records by spending 34 weeks at the top of the charts. They also collaborated with Hailee Steinfeld, on “Don’t Let Go,” and Morgan Wallen, on “Up Down,” which also reached the top of the charts.

Our Pick: Dan + Shay

Who We Think Will Win: Brothers Osborne
