Eric Ethridge is an up and coming country singer who hails from Canada. He has a modern country-pop/country-rock sound to him that instantly grabs your attention. His style is similar to that of a Jimmie Allen. You want to listen to his songs, it’s as simple as that.
Ethridge played football in college but slowly began singing in small venues such as coffee shops and bars, working on his craft in hopes of making music his career. In 2016 he won the Canadian Country Music Association’s Discovery Award, which is a country wide initiative led by the CCMA to find, groom, and mentor the next generation of country music singers.
This summer Ethridge released his first album titled “Eric Ethridge.” It features five songs that are either very fun sounding or deeply personal and emotional. Ethridge’s vocals are smooth and reflect the modern country music era of Sam Hunt, Kane Brown, and Brett Young.
Between Me and You is an uptempo song about that mutual attraction you have with someone across the room.
Girl On Fire isn’t an Alicia Key cover, but rather a song about a girl who is empowered and taking on the town. Ethridge hits some impressive high notes during the chorus.
Right or wrong, sometimes if you’re down in the dumps you just need to pour a drink. Liquor’s Callin’ the Shots is that song about dealing with heartbreak.
Makin’ me Crazy is the “What are we?” song for millenials. The back and forth of non-committal will make a person go crazy.
