Tyler Rich is another country artist that hails from California following the likes of Brett Young, Jon Pardi, and Devin Dawson. But he’s definitely someone that is about to burst on the mainstream country music scene.
Tyler grew up in Northern California to a family that was always playing songs at holidays and parties. While he grew up on rock and pop, he was introduced to country music as a teenager and hasn’t looked back.
While some country singers head to Nashville as teenagers or after graduating high school, that wasn’t the case for Tyler. He graduated with an economics degree and moved to LA. It was there that he was working a restaurant job while working on his craft of becoming a singer.
While in LA, he posted covers on social media including “Mind Reader” by Dustin Lynch. Dustin and his team saw it and followed him for a bit before telling him he should move to Nashville.
Tyler’s sound is along the likes of a Brett Young, Sam Hunt or Devin Dawson. He has a modern country sound to him which is where country music is right now. He sings about real life and about his life, which comes across as totally honest and vulnerable. You can’t ask for much more. He’s on tour with Brett Young this fall and winter and he has talked about releasing his debut album as well.
“The Difference” is his most well-known song as it has over 5 million plays on Spotify. Being inspired by his fiancé, actress Sabina Gadecki, he sings about how the little things can really mean “the difference” in a relationship.
His newest release “11:11” is a tune about making a wish when the clock hits at the right time. However, in the song Tyler is wishing we would’ve done things different with a love interest.
Everyone has that one song – or multiple songs – that make you think of a former flame. Often times it’s a bit more painful than we’d like to admit. That’s what “Radio” is all about. It was his first song he every recorded professionally.
