If you haven’t heard of Ryan Griffin, don’t worry, you’re going to. He has the ability to combine the perfect blend of country, R&B, and rock, making songs so catchy you can’t get them out of your head.
Griffin’s first EP Sake of the Summer introduced us to songs such as “Back Seats & Burnt CDs” and “Woulda Left Me Too.” The latter has over five million streams on Spotify.
Speaking of which, Griffin can owe much of his success to be discovered on Spotify. The great thing about outlets such as Spotify and Apple Music is that it allows a way for independent artists to share their music and gain new fans. It’s the 21st century version of playing for tips in a bar. Nashville producer Busbee heard Griffin on Spotify and immediately sent an associate to meet with him and signed him to a record deal that day.
Griffin’s first major success came when he co-wrote Kelsea Ballerini’s number one hit “Dibs.” He’s been known to cover the song while changing the lyrics to make it work from the perspective of a man.
From there it’s been nonstop for Griffin who has opened for acts such as Old Dominion and Lady Antebellum. In May of 2018, Ryan released 3 new singles: “Good Company,” “Play It By Heart” and “Best Cold Beer,” and it has all his fans hoping that this is a sign of more good things to come.
