NEW Country Coming This Weekend

Last weekend we saw a huge amount of new music drop.

Thompson Square and Michael Ray released new albums. Luke Combs released the deluxe album for This One’s For You featuring five new songs that are absolutely incredible. Dan + Shay released another catchy tune from their upcoming album and Florida Georgia Line released two new songs from their upcoming album. I’m almost out of breath just recapping that.

Oh did you forget about the CMT Awards last night or that it’s CMA Fest this week? You have the feeling there may be some new surprises from a few artists. Keep your eyes peeled on social media for all the great content coming from CMA Fest.

If you’re someone like me who is always geared up for “New Music Fridays” or “New Music Thursdays” if you’re not on the east coast, you might have missed a new song that dropped last night. Kane Brown, fresh off of winning a CMT Award for Best Collaborative Video for “What Ifs” with Lauren Alaina, released a new song from his upcoming album.

After a career-defining year in 2017 it appears that Kane has no interest in slowing down his momentum at all. “Lose It” is a catchy song. Even those country fans who scoff at those who don’t make “real country music,” might end up liking this one. It’s clear that Kane is on the brink of becoming a legit super star in country music. His second album just might catapult him there.

While he’s had some solid success with singles such as “Outskirts of Heaven” and “Keep Them Kisses Comin’” Craig Campbell is set to release his third album. I’ll be interested to hear the songs on “See You Try” to get a sense if any of them can really jump start his career with a potential Top-10 single.

Dierks Bentley is set to release his ninth-studio album “The Mountain.” Dierks has said that it’s going to be a different sound than people may be use to from him. However, so far through the five songs he’s released from the album it doesn’t appear that it’s too different. Dierks is good with the fun & goofy songs but is equally good at the emotional and powerful songs. It will be interesting to hear the rest of the album and see just how bluegrass and folk-like it sounds like.

Sugarland is back – finally! After going on a hiatus around 2012 it’s been a long time since we’ve heard the truly wonderful sound these two make together. They announced their return at the 2017 CMA’s last fall and are set to kick-off their tour this weekend. Having released a few songs off the album, I’ll be curious to hear what the entire project sounds like. Kristian Bush is someone who puts a lot of thought into a project as he often mentors young up-and-coming artists.

In addition to Sugarland’s new album, they’re releasing the music video for “Babe” on Saturday. Teaming up with Taylor Swift is always a good idea. And if you do you better plan on making a music video. They teased us with a preview of the video during last night’s CMT Awards. And it looks….EPIC! The three of them have such brilliant minds when it comes to music. Genuinely looking forward to what they created.
